Every time I answer one of these asks I'm like "is this canon or au??" and have a crisis for a minute trying to decide so this is canon universe fyi

It's their first valentine's day. Dean REALLY wanted to find a werewolf hunt that fell on valentine's day cause of the irony (not that he was HOPING people's hearts would be ripped out, but, you know, if a werewolf just so happened to land on his radar around valentine's day…) but it wasn't meant to be. But they did find a ghost case instead

Well we KNOW Jo wouldn't want to do anything on valentine's day right. She thinks it's silly and dumb. She would make that clear like, a month in advance. And bring it up several times as the date approaches and every time Dean's like "Yeah, I know. I get it."

The morning of valentine's day he gives her breakfast in bed. She smiles but gives him a look and says "you said you weren't going to do anything for valentine's day" and he's like "is that today???? I had no idea" (she doesn't buy it)

After they get ready for the day, he's like "Oh, I forgot to give you these yesterday" and he gives her a bouquet of sunflowers (her favorite) and she tries to fight it but she smiles SO wide and she's like "you don't have some big thing planned, do you?" and he says "Jo, for the last time, I don't have anything big planned" (again, she doesn't buy it)

The rest of their day is like any other. If Jo didn't know any better, she might think she's a little… disappointed?

That evening he asks if she wants to go pick up something for dinner. She's suspicious and he says "Jo, if I had an extravagant surprise, there's no way I would let us leave the house like this, right?" (this meaning their normal clothes) and she's still suspicious but she agrees. They check out of their motel and head out for the night

Jo's suspicion fades for a bit as they're driving, but returns when he pulls over on a cliffside just as the sun is setting. "What are you doing?" She asks. He says "We don't have anywhere to be, I thought it would be nice to stop and sit for awhile. Plus then I don't have to eat while I'm driving"

And they sit on the hood and eat, watching the sunset together, music playing softly on the radio. They stay until the stars come out, this far out they can see thousands of stars. Dean gives Jo his jacket when it gets chilly. They lay back and stargaze for a bit, Dean's arm around her as she lays against his shoulder. She looks up at him at one point, "This was nice." He smirks as he looks down at her, "It's not over yet." She grins and hits him on the arm, "I KNEW YOU WERE FULL OF IT" He laughs, "Hey, I said I didn't have anything big planned! I never said I didn't have anything planned."

"What do you have planned?"

"You'll see."

Later they arrive at a hotel and the room is all decked out with rose petals and candles and chilled wine (he spared no expense) and gosh, as cheesy as it all is, she can't believe he went through all the trouble just for her!! (oh and Dean OF COURSE wore those cheesy boxers with the hearts all over them) They have a lovely rest of their night and you know 😏… and they cuddle and sleep in the next morning 💖💛💕💗💖💛💕💗
